Marcos Painter Kit Sponsorship Renewed

Geoff Penn Photography is proud to announce the renewal of its Home Kit and the Away Kit Sponsor for Brighton & Hove Albion’s defender Marcos Painter for the 2011-12 football season.

We had previously sponsored Marcos’ kit in the 2010-11 season.

In the photograph: Geoff & Linda, Marcos Painter, and our good friends Paula & Ian Smith at the Brighton & Hove Albion Kit Sponsors dinner in April 2011.  In addition to invitations to the annual Kit Sponsor’s dinner, kit sponsors are also listed in each matchday programme.

In previous seasons we have sponsored the home and away kits of former Brighton players James Tunnicliffe and Tommy Fraser.

Melanie & Karl’s Wedding

Linda and I have been busy little wedding photographers, taking the photographs at Mel and Karl’s wedding in Barnsley.

Advance planning really works well – immediately after the ceremony we shot over twenty group scenarios in the Churchfield grounds so that the guests were quickly away for their drinks reception, while we took Mel & Karl to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for more Bride and Groom photos.

The family & friends of Mel & Karl can visit their online photo gallery by clicking ‘Your Photos’ and entering the password you were given on our card.  Otherwise, for everyone else, here’s a slideshow of a few photos from the day.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Today Linda and I visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park; it is a pioneering place that aims to challenge, inspire, inform and delight, welcoming over 300,000 visitors, including 40,000 learning visits each year.  Although it was a quick visit for us to reconnoitre the park for wedding photography background, Lin and I broke off from our work and became enchanted by the sculptures.

We were awestruck by the work of the Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa, his first major exhibition in the UK.

Here are some images of his work.

If you’re in the Barnsley / Wakefield area, it’s well worth a visit.

Fulling Mill Cottage – Fittleworth

Yesterday I had some of my photographs of Fulling Mill Cottage in Fittleworth published in the Brighton Argus newspaper.

Fulling Mill Cottage lies in the picturesque village of Fittleworth, three miles West of Pulborough, in West Sussex. The cottage, along with it’s cats, was bequeathed to Cat Welfare Sussex by it’s last owner, Fred Saigeman upon his death in 2010. Fred had been a staunch supporter of Cat Welfare Sussex for many, many years. It was his greatest wish that the Charity could restore his family home, and after careful thought the trustees decided to restore Fulling Mill Cottage to her former Glory, creating a valuable asset for cat welfare in the future.  Read more about the project.

Disclaimer: Over the years Linda and I have given a home to four cats from CWS: Sorrel, Tansy, Gypsy and Millie.  I look after the website, do a few IT related things, and take photographs whenever required.

If you’d like to help the charity with a donation, there’s a PayPal donations button on the website, or on your phone, text CATS33 then your donation (£1, £2, £5 or £10) to 70070 (eg CATS33 £5 to 70070). Thank you.

Working through the photographs

Today I was the wedding photographer at Sarah and Natalie’s Civil Partnership which was held at the picturesque Goodwood House Hotel, on the famous Goodwood Estate.

Lin and I arrived just after 10 am in the pouring rain and left for home just after 10 pm! It was a long but most enjoyable day, – the rain stopped around 3pm and the sun appeared for a while late in the afternoon.

I’m now working through 1600+ images to produce the final set for Sarah and Natalie for presentation on a DVD.
